Friday 13^th September

             Meeting and visits in Chongqing – visit the  WWII places :  Red Crag Village and Museum  Martyrs

Memorial –  Stilwell Museum.    Meeting with British Consulate ?

 

Saturday 14^th  September (2 nights Chengdu)

            Bullet train Chongqing to Chengdu  frequent service e.g. dep 1600 arrive 1815

            suggested hotels: Tibet Hotel or the Sichuan Hotel

     

Sunday 15^th September

             Visit the recently restored Dujianyan Irrigation project – we could also include the

              Giant Panda breeding centre.

 

Monday 16^th  September (overnight in Anren)

Visit the Jianchuan Museum Complex  at Anren – possible overnight at the Jingui residence ‘a red age living theme hotel.
The galleries reflect the way of life in 20^th Century China from the traditional  way of Chinese living, life during the War against Japan and the civil war (the time of Needham’s travels)  the Cultural Revolution and the recent  earthquake. 
Mr  Fan Jianchuan is a personal friend of our contact at SPAFFC  Shen Zaiwang, who we would like to include in the Chengdu visit.

 

                     

 

Tuesday 17^th September

              Return from Anren – meetings and sightseeing in Chengdu.

2055       Depart by overnight train – T22 to Lanzhou

Wednesday 18^th September (2 nights Lanzhou)

1334      Arrive in Lanzhou.  suggested hotel  Lanzhou Jingjiang Hotel or Lanzhou Hotel

Sunday 22^nd September ( 3 nights Dunhuang)

            Drive across the desert to Dunghuang  (allow 2 hours)

Tuesday 24^th September

         Visit the Crescent Moon Lake,   Singing Sands, Dunhuang Museum

 

Wednesday 25^th September  2 nights in Beijing

1135   Depart Dunhuang by air for Beijing   arriving at 1420.

 

Thursday 26^th September

         Meeting and discussions in Beijing with CPAFFC

Friday 27^th September

         Fly back to the UK or continue your journey independently
